Summer Sun Burns

Your feet can indeed get sunburned, and it's more common than you might think. During the summer, many people remember to protect their faces, arms, and shoulders, but forget all about their feet. Whether you're walking on the beach, relaxing poolside, or wearing sandals outdoors, your feet are still exposed to harmful UV rays.

Why Are Feet Prone to Sunburn?Do feet get sunburnt?

The tops of your feet are often one of the most neglected areas when applying sunscreen. Add to that the fact that the skin on your feet is thinner and more sensitive, and you've got a recipe for a painful sunburn. And because your feet are so essential for walking and standing, a sunburn in this area can cause serious discomfort.

What Are the Signs of Sunburn on Feet?

Sunburned feet can be just as painful as sunburn anywhere else. Common symptoms include:

  • Redness and tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Peeling or blistering skin
  • A burning or itchy sensation
  • Difficulty wearing shoes comfortably

Why It's Important to Protect Your Feet

Your feet support you every day, don't leave them unprotected! Sunburn not only causes pain but can also increase your risk of long-term skin damage, premature aging, and even skin cancer. So, next time you're heading outside, don't forget to show your feet a little love too.
