Dr. Scott Werter is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and Board Certified in Wound Care by the American Professional Wound Care Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Werter completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1990. He then completed his two year residency in North Miami Beach, Florida. Dr. Werter then completed a mini fellowship in peripheral nerve surgery under A. Lee Dellon, MD, a world renowned peripheral nerve surgeon and Professor of Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
Dr. Werter is a former consultant to the ATP (Men’s Professional Tennis) tour.
After five years of practice in South Florida, Dr. Werter moved to Myrtle Beach. He joined Coastal Podiatry Associates in 1997.
He has many professional interests which include: foot surgery, sports injuries, wound care, prevention and treatment of diabetic foot problems and treatment of peripheral nerve problems of the lower extremity. Outside of work, Dr. Werter enjoys his family, weight training, fine dining and always finds time to watch football.
