While occasional foot discomfort can happen due to activity or minor strain, persistent or recurring foot pain should never be ignored. You should consider seeing a podiatrist if you experience:Unsure if your foot pain needs medical attention

  • Pain lasting longer than a few days, especially if it worsens or doesn't improve with rest and home care.
  • Swelling, reddness, or warmth in the foot or ankle which may indicate inflammation or infection.
  • Pain when walking or standing, particularly if it alters your gait or limits your mobility.
  • Changes in the shape or appearance of your feet, including bunions, hammertoes, or flat feet.
  • Recurring blisters, wounds, or sores that don't heal, especially for individuals with diabetes or circulation issues.
  • Ingrown toenails, fungal infections, or other skin/ nail concerns that cause discomfort or keep coming back.

Even seemingly minor foot issues can lead to more serious problems if left untreated. If you're unsure whether your symptoms warrant a visit, it's always safer to consult one of our podiatrists for an expert evaluation.
