Diabetic Neuropathy
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DNA) is a common long-term effect of diabetes. This effect can cause nerve damage in the feet which may feel like a tingling and burning sensation. Diabetics are more susceptible to DNA because high blood sugar levels damage the nerves in the body, particularly in the feet impairing their ability to properly send signals to the brain.
